The question we get often is, do you need proofreading in addition to the translation? Short answer: it's up to you! Maybe it is not financially feasible for you to have it translated to the German language and THEN proofread. We've done it both ways. We done a straight translation and uploaded it to KDP. We've also (for ourselves and others) done the translation, then a proofread by a foreign language editor. We can also do your foreign language proofreading. The cost depends on your word count so if that is something you're interested in, let us know and we can price it for you.
Did you know that in Germany, you run a risk of losing your right to your work if you use a German translator who resides in Germany?
Insane but true. Translators located in Germany translator own the copyright to your book in German as work product. You could get an ironclad agreement in advance, but why risk it? That's why even if you don't use OUR service, look for a German translator located in another country other than Germany.

We provide guidance and support throughout the process, but you'll need to use your own KDP account to publish the translated version. It's not hard; just log into KDP the way you usually do. When you add your new book, you'll simply change the market to Amazon.de. We'll help you know what each of the categories are for your particular book so that you can make sure your book ends up in the right category.
In general, we charge $250 for books under 70k words and $350 for books above 70k words. Typical turnaround time is one to two weeks, depending on workload. If you're in a rush, let us know, and we will accommodate you!
Of course you do! We have no claim on your book, your translation, or your book description. This is work for hire, and you retain all book rights, including translation rights.
Books should be sent in Word and are returned in Word. One as the raw translated file. Then a Word file with track changes shown for the proofreading as well as a copy of the translated file, ready to upload. If you decide to have us do the ebook for you as well, that will be included as a KPF file.
